Torsten Lauschmann, tank.tv DVD

Offering an open, creative space to showcase new moving-image work, tank.tv presents its first DVD anthology; a collection of 24 pieces of mixed-media work by UK based artists, reflecting the breadth of creativity that tank.tv has housed since 2003.

Presenting diverse works by Cerith Wyn Evans, Saskia Olde Wolbers, Daria Martin, Torsten Lauschmann and Andrew Kötting amongst others, the collection is an intensely varied anthology of innovative contemporary works by established and emerging visual artists, rather than a comprehensive overview. The compilation was selected by a panel of curators working across varied moving image fields, including The Serpentine Gallery’s Hans Ulrich Obrist, Ben Cook and Mike Sperlinger (Lux), Stuart Comer (Tate Modern), Michelle Cotton (Salon S1 Sheffield), Rose Cupit of Film London, and NBK Berlin’s Kathrin Becker.

Taking in animation, fictional narrative, digital film, collage and installation-based film work, the selection explores a wide variety of subjects - from politics to identity, and a healthy dose of humour – and aesthetic practises. The DVD will be launched in June at the ICA, London and distributed by Thames & Hudson.
